The Wallingford Sports Trust has engaged Jerry Unsworth, a local planning consultant of considerable experience, to help plan the redevelopment and implementation of new facilities in the sports park.  New facilities such as 3G football pitch, 2nd astro pitch, Padel courts and improved parking are seen as imperative for the next generation in utilising the park to its greatest extent.

Jerry’s knowledge of the Sports Park goes back some time – he obtained planning permission for our current floodlit astro pitch in the 1990s and was Vice-Chairman of the Sports Trust.  In July 2024 we consulted on options for the improvements – please click on the WST Consultation and Survey results below to find out more:

WST Survey Results

We as the Wallingford Sports Trust are a group of volunteers who have been entrusted to deliver excellent facilities for ALL ages for sport in South Oxfordshire and to protect the Sports Park for future generations to come. This includes a 100% funded by outside grants project of changing our old AWP lights to new LED with less power usage and to install solar panels to 4 roofs of the main clubhouse to reduce electricity use by half. Exciting future projects include the ongoing updating of the existing clubhouse rooms, especially items like windows and external doors to improve efficiency, better drainage from the grass pitches to increase winter usage and an underground rainwater storage tank to improve summer conditions.
